I am so proud of this piece. It shows a polar bear sitting forlornly atop melting ice which is in turn atop an old fishing float torn at some stage from a trawler out in the open seas. It is an allegory for the plight of polar animals in general as their ice-flows melt rapidly into the sea. The fishing float is representative of corporate greed and industrial scale pollution of the oceans and it definitely not intended to suggest that fishing fleets are somehow implicated.
